The carter/edelbrock afb and avs carburetors are decent right out of the box, but learning to tune their fuel metering system will make them really come aliv. Step 2 locate the two adjustment screws on the front of the edelbrock carburetor, just below the nameplate. Close the left screw all the way.

To The Left Of Your Lower Arrow, There Is A Screw Sticking Upwards At A 45* Angle That Contacts The Fast Idle Quadrant.


You don't have to have the engine cold to set fast idle. On the right side of the carburetor, locate a black, round disc held in place by three screws. This 1406 is my first edelbrock, and it went on my brand new 383.
